Well, the holiday advertising has begun.

The toy stores have started to flash the newest baubles and bangles under the noses of our kids.  The electronic stores have begun hawking all the newest, and coolest toys for us older kids.  Which means that in the very near future, the parties will begin.

I picked up a suit last week and as I was waiting at the counter for it to be brought to me I noticed a sign saying that on November 1st the store would be closing early so that the employees could attend their holiday party.  That has to have been the earliest christmas party that I have ever heard of.  I have had them in December, and I have had them in January, but never in November.

But back to the holiday season which includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.  We all know what the next couple of months are going to hold for us.  Lots of

And probably some:

Which was the kind of beer my dad used to buy for the holidays.  I always remember him bringing home a 6-pack in case of people stopping by.  Just to be friendly, don’t you know.

And then there will probably be some of this:

Which hopefully won’t end up with  this going on:

I could now go on about the statistics of alcohol car accidents during this time of year, but I won’t.  I will save that for a later post.  Probably as we get closer to Thanksgiving.  Suffice it to say that snow, darkness, vehicles, and alcohol do not mix in anyway shape of form.

I am hoping that I am going to be down in North Carolina by the first of December.  I am done with snow at my age.
