copywriting

As I have been job hunting I get a lot of things in my email that makes me go “hmmmmmm…….”

Offers to go back to college.  Offers to buy my own franchise.  Offers to “Make more money than you ever have.”

The most interesting part of it all is that each pitch that is presented is long on hyperbole, and short on instructions on how to do anything other than how to send my money.  And even though the course/information/whatever is usually priced at $199/$99/$79/whatever….if I click on the appropriate link in the next 10 minutes the price to me will only be $99/$50/$39/whatever.  AND don’t forget all of the ABSOLUTELY FREE BONUS reports that are going to be included that will absolutely help me start my new business.

I was listening to a pitch this afternoon on copywriting.  I was assured that it didn’t matter how well, or how badly I wrote….If I sent in my money I would be sent THE MAGIC FORMULA that would teach me how to write that perfect letter, email, brochure that my clients needed, and would pay me handsome for.  Unfortunately, there was nowhere in the pitch that told me where I was going to get these clients.  Though I was directed exactly where to click to make my payment.
