And here we are.

The End of the Year.

That mystical, magical place in time where we vow that we are going to change all of the bad things in our lives. We are going to lose weight. We are going to spend more time with out loved ones. We are going to exercise more, drink less, and eat better. We are going to blah, blah, blah, blah.

A few of us do better at these resolutions than others. Some of us don’t even last the first week of the new year. We set ourselves up for failure.

We don’t need to do this. Every day each one of us sets out to do the best that we can. There is no one out there that sets out on their day thinking that they are going to intentionally fail. No. Each one of us sets out to do our best every day. And we do. We can’t do it any other way.

That being said, not everything we do turns into butterflies and buttercups. That would be silly. Things go wrong. People change. That is the way of the world. But just because the world, or another person has changed their mind doesn’t mean that we didn’t do the best that we could. It is impossible for any of us to not do our best.

So. What does this all mean?

It means that we all need to quit taking responsibility for things out of our control. It means that in the coming days we all need to continue doing our best, which is all we are capable of doing. And be happy about the things that work out. If something doesn’t work out, learn from it and move on. Leave it in the past. Learn and move forward.

That way we can all have that happy new year that we are going to be wishing one another later this evening.

You are awesome.

Believe it.
