So. My concept of having a list of 58 items that I want to accomplish in this my 58th year on this planet continues to grow.

Here is what I have so far:

  1. Be able to do 58 pushups at one time by my 58th birthday. When I turned 55 I decided to lose 55 lbs. by my birthday. I did it. The last few pounds gave me a struggle, but I did it. Gained 40 of them back, but I did it.
  2. Put in 58 miles on the treadmill. Not a stretch, but hey, it is a laudable goal.
  3. Put $58 in savings every week.
  4. Hand write 58 letters to people I care about. Real letters, handwritten, put in envelops and mailed.
  5. A weekly card to my Mom thanking her for allowing this “accident” to become me.
  6. Attend 58 festivals/parades or the like throughout the course of the year.
  7. Make sure that I have 58 good cigars in my humidor.
  8. Take myself out to dinner on my birthday,

Today I am adding:

9. Learn enough songs for a 58 minute set.

10. Learn 58 songs that I can play without pausing.

which means that I only have 48 more items to list. Good for me.

Update on one of my goals…I have managed to pull an abdominal muscle as I have been training with my pushups. Makes it pretty uncomfortable, but I am going to push forward hoping that it works itself out in the upcoming days. I know that the combination of coughing, and sneezing that I have been doing lately helped this muscle pull along….damn colds.
