The things in my head go 'round and 'round

This is my life. You can't have it.

Michigan and Medical Marijuana

You folks are a fickle lot.

In October and November when I was writing, and reporting on Michigan Proposal 1, whether to make Medical marijuana legal or not in Michigan, you were flocking here in droves.

And I know that a lot of that had to do with where I was ranking on the search engines. But I thought some of you would stick around.

Now that I am watching what is happening with the auto industry in Michigan I am finding much less interest. That is concerning, as much as it is amusing.

Concerning in that I hope that there is not an apathy as to the health or the demise of the auto makers in Detroit. If they go under there will be up to 3 million folks in the unemployment lines. And those lines can’t hold too many more.

Amusing in that, well. Just follow the train on thought.

So stick around kids. We will have fun along with the real stuff. I promise.

Taking a ride on the crazy train

Sorry about the absence. It all has to do with a cold that I caught before Christmas and just has had the temerity to linger and not leave.

Toss in a few Nyquil fueled dreams, and you can figure out where my focus has been. Certainly not in writing anything that has been lumbering around in my head. Unless you are interested in OTC drug dreams.

Back to it.

In following what is happening in my home state of Michigan I came across this little tidbit last week. The UAW and GM are meeting for contract talks.

Now doesn’t that send chills down your spine?

Just when the state, hell the nation, needs for things to go without a hitch for the Big 3 Automakers you have to toss in a contract negotiation.

The UAW has a no strike clause in their current contract. That contract expires in September of 2011. GM and Chrysler have until December of 2011 to pay back the loans that they received from the Federal Government. Which leaves everyone in a weird situation.

The UAW and the car companies have got to come out of these negotiations with a plan to keep the companies whole, and healthy.

Anything less, any petty bickering will kill them all.

In my opinion.

Chuck E. Cheese cage match

Chuck E. Cheese must be so happy. His Susquehanna Township store made not only the local papers for its fights, it also made Perezhilton.com.

The participants folks must be so proud.

Harrisburg and the Wild West

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is the State Capital of The Commonweath of Pennsylvania.

A pretty important city in the whole scheme of the state, or so it would seem.

Harrisburg doesn’t have much in the way of tourist attractions. We have a baseball farm team called the Senators. We have a Civil War Museum. We have a small arts community, with some nice small music venues.

And we have our Mayor Stephen Reed. Mayor Reed is the longest serving Mayor of Harrisburg. He was first elected in 1981. During his term he has developed City Island, where the Senators play, and the Civil War Museum.

And then there are the wild west artifacts. Mayor Reed purchased a large number of western items for placement in a Wild West Museum. Which resulted in a large amount of negative outcry from the City Council, and from his constituents.

Recently it came to light that he had bought a warship called the Royal Savage. The unfortunate part is that this vessel belongs to the Federal government under the NAGPRA law, which essentially says any vessel used by the Navy is Federal property.

Mayor Reed tried to sell the ship a few years ago and was unable to.

But that isn’t the worst part. Mayor Reed has recently become the model for a booblehead doll. Yeah, you heard me correctly. The Mayor of the Capital of The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has a booblehead doll.

I shit you not.

The year of gaining traffic

This is going to be the year where I build my traffic. This is the year where I acquire many, many back links.

And if you are a nice person visiting, would you mind linking back to this blog, and I will be very happy to reciprocate. Thanks,

Where was I? This is the year where my weekly visitors will equal the largest amount that visited just prior to the November elections when we were discussing Medical Marijuana, or proposal #1 in Michigan.

And that was one hell of a sentence, wasn’t it?

Amazing. This is the year.

Ok, I am tapped out right now

I started working at a new location, and right now I am pretty tapped out mentally. Sorry.

The location I am now working at has some interesting issues to deal with. Sanitation, follow through by the management staff, training of the associates, and the fact that this location will be moving to a new venue in about 9 months.

Sounds like fun doesn’t it? So here I am trying to instill some basic retail standards in the current group, while trying to figure out who is going to be going to the new venue.

And right now, it doesn’t look like many of them will be.

So. That is where I am at.

I have a day off coming up this Sunday. Going to watch some football, and get my head back in line.

Talk to you then.
