The things in my head go 'round and 'round

This is my life. You can't have it.

Driftin’ on the drive home

Thinking about autos on the drive home.  My truck needs some work.  After 238,000 miles there are some things that could use replacement, and tweaking.  I need a new EGR valve.  I could use a new clutch.  I would like to replace my shocks.  My seats are getting pretty shot.  And I think that the serpentine belt could use changing.

And thinking about all of those things, made me think about driving my parents car when I was still at home.  When I started driving, my parents owned a Plymouth Fury.  It was a 1971, I believe.

This car ended up in a swamp one night.  One terrible, scary night.  That might of included some wine, and maybe an herb or two.  But that is a story for another time.

My parents graduated up to a Sport Fury in 1976.  It was beautiful.  They took possession in April, or May, and by the time I went away to college that September somehow 60,000+ miles appeared on their car that had less than 1000 on it when they got their keys.

Somehow.  But that was what I was thinking about when I was driving home tonight.  See what happen when I can’t get involved in the music coming out of my speakers?

No one wants my Third World Country sized shirt

That saddens me.  I thought that for sure one of you would be able to see beyond the green appleness of its color to the inner beauty of it.

Lord knows that I never did, but I have little fashion sense.  And, truth be told, very little sense to begin with.

Regardless.  I will strive to find something else that is give away worthy in my searches within the confines of my abode.

In other words, I will find something else that I don’t want anylonger to give away.

Better?

Thought so.

I got another t-shirt to give away

It is a corporate sponser t-shirt for walking in the 2005 MD walkathon.  This shirt is from one of the sponsering companies.  It is a very appealing green apple green, with the sponsers name on it.

What the heck would you do with this shirt?  About the same that I am doing with it.  Oh, and by the way, it is sized 3x.  It was from when I was a little larger.

So there it is.  I will take a picture of it later and post.  But for now it is available to the 5th commentor this time.

So come on folks, chime in and win a shirt large enough to house a small family.

Whatever you carry deep inside, there’s something more than this

Please understand that I fully intend at some point in time to monetize this blog. I want to be up front with this.

Why am I going to monetize it? Because I have been looking for a way to get out of being a wage slave for the past 27 years. Since the first day that I took a job with and bellied up to the barrel for my first pay check I have been looking for a way out.

There. I said it. I don’t like going to work everyday having some person that I don’t really want to deal with telling me what to do. I also am really not down with the whole concept that is generally held out “there” that people can get bitchy and rude with me. It amazes me to this day that I have little old ladies get so mad at me over not having a particular can of something, when the store carries a gazillion different styles of canned something that the little old lady can call me names, question my parentage, and not expect me to deck her. Or that I have men telling me that they are going to call in favors with friends in the “government” to investigate my store because they think that the prices are too high. What the heck is going on with people?

That is why I am going to monetize this blog. I can’t deal with stupidity any longer. At least with anyones other than my own. And I can be pretty stupid at times. But that is just part of my charm.

So. You will see some items here that I am touting. Hopefully, you won’t see anything stupid here. Other than the things that roll around in my head, normally. So be forewarned.

Hi Bert

Nice to see you made it home from work in one piece.

Friday

A day off. I can’t wait. I am mailing out Lynne’s winnings to her, and will be looking around the house for something to give away next week. Wonder what it will be?

Another shirt? How’s about one of the many abandoned toys that seem to be taking up so daggone much space.

Hmmmm. And then there are all of the books.

What do you think it should be? Chime in and let me know.

Are you getting tired of my daily report?

I think that I am.  Though I did get my Dr. appointments dealt with today.  Made an appointment with the orthopedist to take a look at my knee.  I am hoping that I am not going to need surgery, I would prefer to only have to rehab it properly.

But I am getting boring again, now aren’t I.

I am.

G’night.

Unanswered questions

A commentor asked what the significance of the numbers in the box that shows the date and time.  Looks like the first number corresponds to the hour of the day, and the next number is the day of the month, and lastly the year.

This is a weird way to display time.  I will get it changed when I figure that out.  One more thing on my list of to do’s.

Difference between boys and girls.  My daughter sends me emails that have alot of flowers and poems and such.  My youngest son sends me pictures of his poop.

I love my kids.

Cool

when I leave a comment, I am listed as anonymous. Just what my fragile ego needs, and deserves.

One more thing to figure out on this journey to make this blog work.

I decided last night, on my hour long trek home from work, that I will be doing a series of contests to be called “Giving-away-crap-that-I-find-lying-around-the-house”. Catchy title, eh? I think so. The whole, truth in advertising thing don’t you know.

Anyway, I will be doing this weekly in a blatant attempt to build traffic to this blog. Again, the whole truth in advertising issue. I just like to be as upfront as I possibly can.

The rules will be this. I will announce the contest, wait for comments, and pick a winner at the end of the day, request the mailing address for said winner and mail whatever they won out to them. Simple.

This weeks first winner is Lynne. Congratulations!! And thank you for playing. Now add me to your links and I will be eternally in your debt.

Reading some of my previous posts

And man!  I can murder the English language, can’t I?  Run on sentences, and just mixing up word combinations that just should not be mixed up.

What a number I am.
