The week before Christmas.

It is like a panic-ridden, last minute thrill ride to everywhere. At least that is what it has always felt like to me.

It never helped that I worked in retail since 1980.. Living the mindset of GET IT OUT OF THE BACKROOM NOW!!!! Can’t sell it, if they can’t see it!

And so on, and so forth. It is maddening.

Now I just stay away from shopping locales as much as possible. Grocery stores are full of people planning holiday meals. Grabbing all the green beans, fried onions, hams, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Malls are full of people just starting their shopping, or putting the final touches on it. Either way it leads to more traffic, congestion on the roads, and unfortunately, the ugliness that results.

I would ask y’all to be safe, and calm through this last week, but I know you won’t so I won’t.

I will just sit here, keep drinking my coffee in the morning, and my bourbon in the evening, with a well packed pipe to smoke throughout.

Priorities, my bitchachos….priorities.
