Time to start brewing again. Especially since this batch won’t be ready until sometime in the Spring.

A coffee mead. Just honey, strong brewed coffee, some yeast nutrient, and yeast.

Going to use 10 lbs of local honey….at $75 bucks…holy crap sticks! For the majority of the water I will need, I will be using a strong brewed coffee. Using double the amount recommended for normal drinking.

I am adding in yeast nutrient because the honey is the only fermentable. The yeast nutrient gives those little yeastie guys something to chomp on so that they fart out more carbon dioxide.

I am suspecting the ABV to be around 12% to 14%. Again, I don’t take gravity readings because…I just don’t. Could be I am just lazy that way.

All of the goodies will go into the fermenter and then under the table in my room for at least a good 2 months.

I will keep you undated.

Dodd Family Brewing is back!
