And I am not even a Dead fan.  Unless you are talking about The Walking Dead, and then I am a huge fan.

I just spent the past 6 days traveling 1500 + miles.  This is me after 700 miles in a small vehicle.

roadtrip

I get that grimy feeling like I am never going to get clean again.  My butt falls asleep.  My legs ache.  To put it mildly, I become a whiner.  The loop that runs through my head is, “Are we there yet?  How much longer?”

We had some things to attend to in Florida, and we decided that with the impending hurricane coming towards North Carolina that it might be a good idea to beat feet south.  And that is what we did.  We watched the storm clouds as we passed them on 95 Wednesday afternoon, and evening.  We waved, and made nah, nah, boo, boo faces to Arthur.  He deserved it.  Though we worried that our mocking the storm might come back to bite us in the butt when we returned home.  To no avail.  There were only a load of small dead branches, and pine cones all over the yard and walkways when we returned home.

So.  How was your 4th of July this year?  Next year, ours will not entail traveling for so many miles.

Hopefully.
