Election day is coming this Tuesday.  Local elections, granted, but still an important day for those people who have chosen to be of service to their respective communities.  Those brave souls who have shelled out good money to have pamphlets, and fliers printed up in bright, cheery colors with their smiling faces plastered on them.  Those ambitious folk who keep knocking on my door so that they can eagerly enjoin me to make sure that I get out and exercise my constitutional right.

Why is it that people think that just because they knock on my door that I have an obligation to answer said door?  Dude you in there

There are times when I just do not want to talk to people.  And even though that person knocking on my door might be the friendliest person out there, there are those times that to me they are more like:

zombie you in there

And somehow I am just not ok with that.  And I can hear a couple of my friends thinking, “Phil…..be nice.”

I am.  Much better that I not answer that door, than to answer the door and tell the person there that I was right in the middle of taking a poop.

What are your ideas about feeling obligated to answering the door when someone knocks?
