You would think from my writing today that I am slammin’ ’em down today.  Happily, that is not the fact.  I am actually taking time out from cleaning out the house getting ready for my move to North Carolina the first part of the year.

Anyway, I had the TV set up to Discovery Channel, and the show “Moonshiners” came on.  I find this show interesting in that the film crew is wandering around filming people breaking the law.

And the only reason that it is illegal is because of the ‘shiners not paying tax on the finished product.  Gotta give Uncle Sam his due, don’t you know.

Of course there are lots of places where you can find information on how to build a distiller…the one the surprised me the most was this one:

I had forgotten that I had this book in my library…..you know that as soon as I came across the info that this book showed how to distill I went and dug the book out.  It is now proudly displayed right next to beer brewing books.  Though I don’t know if I will be setting up a home distilling kit.

I have bigger things to worry about first……like that batch of peach brandy that I want to get brewing as soon as I get down south.
