Watching television with me is an interactive activity.  I talk to the commercials, and make snarky comments about the stupid ones.  Which means that I make a lot of snarky comments.

Lately I have been really irritated with the beer commercials.  I have been brewing beer for a good 8 years now.  I know what good beer is, and tastes like.  The sad thing is that in the United States over 6 billion gallons of beer were consumed in 2011.  And with that amount of beer being drank, you wouldn’t think that we would have those guys on the Sam Adams commercial saying that they didn’t know what it tasted like.

Really?  You don’t know what a Sam Adams tastes like?  Could it be that you are drinking the goat urine produced by Bud, Miller and Coors?  Don’t get me started on what beer should taste like.

The thing that is really frosting my cupcakes lately is Budweiser and their new ‘ita drinks.  The Lime A Rita, and their new Cranbrrrita bud light drinks.

Great screamin’ Jayzus.  Are you kidding me?  These are really not beers.  They are what are known as malt beverages.  That means they are brewed to be tasteless, and odorless so that the company can add flavorings into them to taste like whatever they want you to drink.  Remember Zima?

Zima was produced by Coors to taste like a gin and tonic.  Instead it tasted like crap.  It was produced in the middle 90’s right around the time of Crystal Pepsi, and other clear consumables.  And they all went down in flames.

Just like I hope the ‘itas do.  Irritates me to no end.
