There currently is a storm moving from the Gulf of Mexico to the north. At this point in time it is dropping snow and sleet on North Carolina and points inland. This storm is to predicted to hit the Pennsylvania area sometime around midnight on Wednesday. I am writing this Tuesday afternoon. The amount of snow Pennsylvania will be receiving, as always, will depend on the track the storm takes. If it goes out to sea more we will receive less. If the storm stays on the land, we will receive more. This is normal, and at this point it is estimated that the area I live in will receive any where from 6″ to over a foot of snow.
Poop.
And of course, if we get the amount of snow currently predicted it will mean yet more school cancelations.
I think that most folks have pretty much had enough at this point. I do know that I have. And in celebration of my being oh so over snow I have taken to making wine.
Now there is a happy thought. I have already started a mango wine. Today I went out and picked up some cranberry-apple juice that I am going to start fermenting tonight. The mixture is going to be 3 gallons of juice, 2 gallons of water, 6 cups of sugar to boost the finished alcohol content, and 2 packets of champagne yeast. That’s it. Going to rack it into a 5 gallon fermenter, cap it and let the yeast do its thing for a few weeks.
I will let you know more as it is happening.
