I am reminded of a time not so far past. A time when a group of friends, and a curmudgeon met on a sandy isle to engage in a week of warm, and shenanigans.
The Curmudgeon spent his time in calm repose….
enjoying coffee and the occasional fine cigar. Well, actually more than the occasional cigar…and possibly more than just coffee in that there cup.
But the shenanigans occurred on a regular basis. Rolicking in the surf was a daily occurrence followed by languid times spent in and around the canopy that had been erected.
And when the friends became restless they engaged in games involving the excavation of the sand, and the subsequent burial of one another.
The Curmudgeon, and his Eldest watched with humor….
At the end of the day all participants would retire to the comfort of their accommodations were food, and conversation were enjoyed. Then while some played card games, others would gather on the veranda.
Where some would contemplate their toes.
Others, the bottom of their glass.
And all would quietly gaze in wonder at the beauty of the area around them.

I seem to remember the same curmudgeon, who at the end of the week, was “vacationed out” and wanted to go home. Karmas a bitch….
