Nope.  Not gonna talk about the weather.  That horse has been beaten into the slush.  So let’s move on and talk about something that causes even more anxiety in men, and especially women.

Valentine’s Day!!!!!

Back when I was doing the on-line dating insanity the time period between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day was the crunch time for single women.  No woman that I talked to ever wanted to be alone during this time period.  And they would hook up with some bottom feeders just so that they wouldn’t be alone.  And no, I do not include myself in the bottom feeder category.

Most times, that is.

There are many stories of how Valentine’s Day started.  And of course a few of them have to do with Pagan rituals….what doesn’t have to do with Pagan rituals?  What it comes down to is the day became popular in the 1700’s.  Lovers would give one another little gifts, and cards expressing their love for one another.

In modern days Valentine’s Day helps brighten up the period of time between New Years and Easter.  It also will bring in approximately $14 billion.  That is billion.  Now, mind you, that amount is spread out over restaurants, florists, gift and card shops and the like.  This day gives a mid-winter boost to retailers who see a huge slump in sales after New Years.

So….

Don’t forget the ones you love.  The economy, and your love life can use the boost………
