Kids birthdays, Sibling Day, breathing. Have had lots of thoughts about kids lately. The pictures above are nifty in that they are in chronological order…imagine that…the only caveat is the young lady on the left in the graduation photo is not my youngest. Nope Shannon belongs to someone else. My youngest, Emily is the one on the right with the big cheese eatin’ grin on her face on the night of her High School graduation last year.
The youngest son is graduating from UofM in May, the youngest daughter is finishing up her first year at UPenn, the eldest son is continuing a successful career as the Head Baker at an upscale restaurant in Southern California, and the eldest of the entire clan, Jessica, continues to lobby me to move to Arizona as she works her way up in the company she works for.
That children are healthy, happy, and successful is about all that I can ever hope for my kids. They all seem to have turned out well, despite the sins of their Father being heaped upon their shoulders. Being absent due to work, due to immaturity, due to whatever you care to enumerate. Happy, healthy, and successful. All a dad could ask for.

Penny, I don’t pat myself on the back about anything having to do with the way my kids turned out. They are the ones who have done the work, and they are the ones who deserve all the honors…

But, you laid the groundwork, so you deserve some recognition!
