Are you a member of LinkedIn? Are you as confused about it as I am?
LinkedIn is a professional-oriented social networking site or service. Whichever way you want to look at it. I have been a member for a number of years, and have done absolutely nothing with it. Members connect with people they know, and then can move out from there to companies, and people in the same line of work, etc. It is like Facebook without the drama, and cat pictures.
Employers can list jobs, job-seekers can find out more about the company they are interested in working with.
Annnnnnd like I said, I have done absolutely nothing with it. During my period of unemployment, also known as “The Trail of Tears”, I used internet job sites to no avail. I used to spend a couple of hours each day searching for jobs, filling out applications, forwarding my resumes, and refining job searches. Not much came of it. I am now in the position of deciding what social networking I am going to keep, and what I am going to eliminate due to lack of time, interest, and impact on my life.
Twitter, FaceCrack, LinkedIn, Google+, instagram….how many sites can we actually keep up with and use?
I am on the fence. I know that some have to go, but which ones? What social networking sites are you on, and which ones have you tossed to the side of the road?
