Damn, I hate that question.
Every day when I boot of FaceCrack that is the first thing I see.
“What’s on your mind?”
“106 people are waiting to hear from you. Tell them what is going on in your life.”
GAHHHHHH!
Truth be told, there is TOO much going on in my mind.
A persistent tinnitus that just won’t go away. I have a mild case caused by way too much loud music over the years, but lately I have had a louder than usual ringing in my left ear.
“Go see the Doctor.”
I know, I know….but it just isn’t that easy.
I am dealing with other issues with my Doctor. Ringing in the ear is a little lower on the priority list.
Work. How much can I do? Should I scale it back a little? I am putting up to 125 miles average on my car a day. And the drivers here, OY, the drivers. Or should I say the LACK of drivers. Most of the people steering vehicles that weigh in at over 2 tons in the two tourist cities I work in are decidedly NOT drivers. It is as if they never had a lesson on how to safely operate a vehicle. EVER.
Oy.
Writing. Have I become stale? Boring? Should I jump on the bandwagons that keep being churned in the media? Does anyone really want to know what I think? Hell, do I know what I think. Other than we are becoming a society of stupid, easily distracted, judgmental fools.
Isn’t THAT being judgmental?
Is it bad that both times I typed “judgmental” I had to go back and take the “e” out? Not the third time, because I had learned by then.
So what is on my mind? All the above, and sooooo much more.
Like Walmart employees. Know why you can never find one on the sales floor? It is because they are hiding out in the backrooms. I deal with 5 different Walmarts on a weekly basis. I am in their backrooms. I see them. None of their associates want to have to deal with customers. When they see someone who might need help, they run. A couple of weeks ago I came down an aisle and ran into 3 associates just shootin’ the shit. They saw me coming and ran in three different directions. I know I am not that ugly.
“The truth? You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!”
What’s on my mind? You don’t have the time or the inclination to really want to know.
Maybe it is the moon. Nice and full tonight. Well…almost full. Maybe that is what is stirring my head soup up.
That and a case of UMS. My version of PMS…..Ugly Mood Swings.

I, too, having the ringing in the ears, my friend. I almost always worked in noisy environments, but have assiduously worn ear protection, so it must be attributed to the Carver amp and Klipsch loudspeaker to which I was voluntarily subjected to as a yoot (and as an adult, as well)!

My usual ringing is also as a result of being out in front of a bank of speakers. I didn’t learn to wear plugs until I had already messed up my hearing. Oh well……..
