But don’t get your hopes up. I haven’t crossed over the The Dark Side.

Even if they have cookies….

Though being a liberal has made my life difficult at times.

It is never easy when you are on one side, and your family and friends are on the other. It not always easy defending the way you think and live.

So I don’t. I don’t need to. I know that I am not going to change the opinions of my friends and family. And I absolutely know that they are not going to change the way that I think.

Not happening.

And believe me, it has taken years for me to get to this point of accepting that people are going to think the way that they think, and they have every right to that way of thinking. Many years, and many exhaustive hours of researching facts and figures so that I could back up my arguments.

It just ain’t worth it any longer.

Hate different races and religions? Knock yourself out.

Outraged because of the welfare system in the US? Go wild.

Think that we have too little/too much focus on Christianity in our government? Rock on, disciple.

Me? I am going to impact the world by letting the people around me observe how I live my life. I am that change that I wish to see in the world.

And I am good with that.

Now if only I could accept that people drive like idiots……
