I have had some creeping crud growing on my hands it seems.

For about two months I have had a problem with dry, scaly, cracked hands. Fingers, specifically.

Started out as what I thought was just callus, and quickly became scaly, ugly hunks of dry skin that would then crack exposing new skin.

On all of my fingers.

Ever hear of that story of the torture of death by one thousand cuts? Yeah. I pretty much attest to the pain of that.

I have always taken my fingers for granted. No longer. I have spent the last two months “bear pawing” everything I need to pick up.

Anyway. I went to the Dr. and after she abused me for my cigar smoking she decided to treat what was on my hands as an internal infection.

A fungal infection.

An internal fungal infection.

Sounds pretty ugly to me. Visions of mushrooms growing in blood. Or spores of some kind hanging out in my respiratory system.

And I just spelled “respiratory” correctly on the first time.

I do amaze myself.

Anyway, the drugs are workin. The hands are getting better. Thanks for asking.
