Have you ever been in a rut?
A really deep, rutty, rut? One that you just have no idea how to get out of?
As I am jostling, and bumping along, there are times when I think I have an idea of how to get out and I get part-way up……and fall right back down into the rut.
I have so many thoughts started. Titles written. Outlines made. And it just doesn’t seem to be the right time to hit that “post” button.
I have been reading the Constitution. Studying borders and the reasons why we do, or do not need them.
And I am still in this rut.
And the world burns…..

For most of us, life is a rut. 60 years or more long. Riding the motorcycle or snowmobile or car or bicycle or jogging at maximum speed along the rut. Trying to survive and have fun. Bouncing and absorbing abuse. Dreaming of riding the salt flats instead of the rut. How much nicer that would be.
Then one day you ride the salt flats. And realize the rut was more fun…..All those years you dreamed of the salt flats. The better life……only to find out pleasure is conquering difficult ruts, not riding the easy path. Who knew…..

Ah, brother it is always good to hear from you. My rut has to do with my creative life…regular life is amazing.

The character Phillip J. Fry in Futurama said “Can’t tell if I’m the groove” … “or stuck in a rut.” I think that’s what you’d call a meme or something.
