Ok, stick with me here on this one….

The title comes from a song, “Welcome to the Boomtown”. It is about the crazy times of the ’80’s. The hypocrisy of Flash over substance.

Fast-forward to now.

Well, now, in a relative sort of way. Regardless…..

I am tired of being asked if I want to donate, or round my bill up to the next dollar. I am tired of companies trying to use me.

Like that will ever happen. We, are the commodities.

I worked in retail for 40 years. I understand why companies ask for donations. I understanding trying to get customers to join your “community”.

And it still pisses me off.

Especially because the people who are asking me for said donation, could be college students who could really use help with tuition and books. Not by repeating a script to me.

It is hypocrisy.

And it pisses me off.
