I have no idea where my desire to garden comes from. My parents didn’t garden. They were too busy making a living. My Grandparents didn’t farm. So, I have no idea where I get that green thumb.
I am not a grow from seed kinda gardener. And, I am too cheap to buy seedlings. Instead, I like growing lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, onions, potatoes, chives, and garlic from the scraps we would be throwing away. The root structure at the bottom of the plants just named can sprout new roots, and new sprouts that can be planted and be regrown.
That right there gets me all giddy inside.
I invite you to come over to Youtube to check out my gardening videos. Along with my music videos, as I am a multi-talented kinda guy.
Also, when you comment on any of my videos from May 18-24 you will have a chance to win $10 on me. Every Thursday….Thirsty Thursday…I will reveal who I sent $10 to….chosen from the commenters on any of my videos from May 18-24. On Thirsty Thursday I will have a pint with everyone. And one lucky person will be able to have have pint on me. Or, of course, their personal drink of choice. That goes without saying.

Phil. I would say, based on your description of the plantable root structures of those veggies etc, that the roof structures of one of your distant ancestors must have been planted in your ancestral DNA from the past. It skipped through your parents and grandparents, and then finally emerged and sprouted above ground in you. Just a theory of mine. Hope you don’t mind my conjecture, mi compadre!

Phil. I would say, based on your description of the plantable root structures, that the roof structures of one of your distant gardening ancestors must have been planted by one of them in your ancestral DNA from the past. It skipped through your parents and grandparents as it grew semi-dominant, and then finally emerged and sprouted above ground in you. Just a theory of mine. Hope you don’t mind my conjecture, mi compadre!

Once our deck registration replacement is finished (if ever), I may need to follow your advice, gardening guru, and grow new food from old food.
