I am very short-sighted. Yet another of my character flaws.

As a side note….retirement is wonderful in that it gives you the time to diddle around in fun stuff. Or stuff that each of us finds fun. Social media is my fun stuff. I am trying to figure it out. What makes people view what they do? Does it matter what time of day to post? What keywords? How many in the title, in the body of the post?

And as I am typing this I am thinking of the video I posted last night concerning brewing. The lighting was horrible. And it was because I was back lit….and even with putting light on my face, the video still looks washed out. Now I want to go back and re-shoot that video because I know how to shoot it correctly. And I spent 30 minutes prior to shooting that video correcting camera height and angle.

And of course that nudges me down the rabbit hole of possibly having to change to an actual video camera….which I haven’t used in ages….as opposed to my phone. And why do I use my phone? For a couple of reasons…first, and foremost, I am lazy. It is hard work setting up video shoots! And there really isn’t another. I admit it.

In my heart of hearts I know that the product I am putting out could be improved with paying attention to how my videos are shot. I know this. But there is a part of me that wants to hold on to the illusion of being raw, with hardly any production values.

I do tend to forget that this is no longer Marble Street.
