A couple of weeks ago I introduced you to a friend, and fellow cigar aficionado, Anthony. Anthony is co-owner of the online cigar retailer Cigarscity.com.
At the time I gave you the url for the online store, but I neglected to give you his FaceCrack page url. You should head over and like his page. Good man, good product, a win win situation if I ever saw one.
Anthony sent a couple of cigars for me to enjoy and then to comment on. I posted one review earlier, and here I am now doing the next.
Joya de Nicaragua is the oldest cigar brand produced in Nicaragua. After the Cuban embargo, tobacco farming began in 1964 with Joya de Nicaragua being established in 1968.
the Joya de Nicaragua cigar I tried is the Antano 1970. The Antano is a puro cigar. This means that the 3 components of the cigar all come from the same country. This cigar is a full bodied cigar. Not for first time smokers, or from someone who is not used to a flavor explosion in their mouth from a cigar.
After toasting the foot and getting it fired up the first taste that hit me was pepper. The Habano wrapper on this cigar is very spicy. The smoke has the usual wood/leather/oaky taste with a back flavor of dark chocolate. Great draws, wonderful creamy smoke, and an hours worth of pleasure packed into a 5″ package.
If you like a good full bodied cigar, this is one you have to try.
Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 from Cigars City. You gotta try this one.
