The temps don’t show it, but you can feel it in the air. And unfortunately, all of the stores.
I should have figured it out when I started getting whiffs of the foul stench of pumpkin everything.
And now there are pumpkins in the stores, Halloween candy, costumes, party accessories.
It is fall.
But it is going to be in the mid 80’s today. I am going to the beach. How can it be Fall?
I bet most of you don’t realize, or maybe you do, that the selections in your local grocery store change with each season. Certain products are given more space, and other items that might not sell during a certain season have space taken away.
And when the first foul wafting of its stench were detected, pumpkin spice invaded. We have pumpkin spice everything. Candy, cookies, brownies, crackers, coffee creamer, candles, soap, and the list continues on ad infinitum.
It is strange being in an area of the country where I have to really think about what time of year it is. Other than the retail stores, there are no overt signs. It doesn’t get appreciably colder.
OOOOO….and let us not forget the whole mint flavored everything for Christmas.
It makes my head hurt. Wake me when it is January.
