A little context, if you will indulge me….

As an verified Old Man I do tend to like to pretend I am doing useful. To earn a bit of cash I do secret shopping for various service companies. It keeps my car clean, and I don’t have to pay for my food….such as it is.

That all being said, it mostly boring stuff. Most of the companies I work with have amazing young people working for them. Then there are times like today.

It was bad from the get go. Todays victim was a car wash. One of a group of 10 I shop each month. This shop is usually just like the rest, friendly staff, a display case neatly placed by the cashier where you can purchase air fresheners and the like. But not today. There was litter and mulch along the curb leading to where you pay. Looked like a mulch pile. When I pulled up to wait to be checked in I noticed the the display case looked as if it had been ransacked. More peg hooks than product. And I am still waiting to be checked in.

I do believe I forgot to mention that as I was pulling up to the cashier station, I noticed an associate with his head under the hood of a car. So, as I am waiting to be checked in the associate who is supposed to be checking me in is messing with his car.

But, it gets better. I get checked in, and ask for a receipt. And he asks, “why?” My irritation when into warp speed. And he then tells me that he printer is down.

I have really been much better at being a peaceful person. Unfortunately, I have to report to the owner of this store that over the course of the last 30 days not a whole bunch of work has been around his car wash….other than on one of his associates cars.

I would like to remind you of how petty, and judgmental I can be…..I am a work in progress.
