I know I am dating myself, but who remembers this?
Back in the day…..way back in the stone age…..or maybe it was the stoned age…whatever….where was I?
Oh yeah…it always seemed that when I was in school we were always making decorations for the classroom. I guess it was during the art section of the curriculum where we would drag out the construction paper, and scissors, and glue, and crayons and just went freaking wild. The best part was always when we got to help the teacher decorate the bulletin board.
That was always the amazing part. Because it was like collaborating on a mural. It was out there for everyone to see, and admire.
Regardless….why am I rambling on about this? Other than the fact that I ramble on about just about everything….haven’t you figured that out by now? I am surprised at you….seriously.
If you are paying attention The Big Day is just two weeks away! Yeppers…..here it comes….Thanksgiving day!!!!!!
Wait…my family thanksgiving wasn’t like that …it was more like this:
Yeah. That was more like it. With maybe a little of this tossed in:
I don’t fully understand why Charlie Brown and Snoopy are so ingrained into my holiday memories. Most be that they were new when I was growing up, and I watched them every year when them came on. Love Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
So you have two weeks to get ready for this:
And this:
With a little bit of this tossed in for good measure:
And speaking of Canada:
But all kidding aside, Thanksgiving memories revolve around the food for most people. I remember, again it is all about me…lest you ever forget, having Thanksgiving dinner at my Grandparents house. Grandma would prepare the turkey, leaving the sides and desserts to my family along with my two aunts. It was always a pilgrimage…no pun inteneded, gathering everything together and traipsing it all to the farm.
I was supposed to make the hike from Pennsylvania back to Michigan this year for Thanksgiving…the first time in many, many years. That fell through, so I will be hanging out with Roxie the Zombie Killer on Thanksgiving.
Haven’t figured out what we will be knoshing on that day as of yet…probably won’t decide until the day before. We are fairly flexible in our long-range planning…..though, I know we will be watching:
though the zombie killer really doesn’t have a sense of tradition. She will be sleeping through the majority of it all anyway. Silly hound.
